Philippians 2:30
Compare all
28 Therefore I sent him the more eagerly, that when you see him again you may rejoice, and I may be less sorrowful.
29 Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness, and hold such men in esteem;
30 because for the work of Christ he came close to death,1 not regarding his life, ato supply what was lacking in your service toward me.

Philippians 2:30

Philippians 2:30 Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death. Because it was his work for Christ, his refusal to spare himself, his supreme anxiety, to supply your lack of service toward me. To supply by his own service the absence of the church, which brought on his sickness.
