Longed for (epipoqhtoi). Late and rare verbal adjective (here alone in N.T.) from epipoqew.
So stand fast (outo sthkete). Present active imperative of sthkw (late present from perfect esthka from isthmi). See Philippians 1:27. They were tempted to defection. Standing firm is difficult when a panic starts.
