Philippians 4:7
The peace of God (h eirhnh tou qeou). See in II Thessalonians 3:16 "the Lord of peace" (o Kuriov thv eirhnhv) and verse Philippians 4:9 for "the God of peace" (o qeov thv eirhnhv).
Shall guard (frourhsei). "Shall garrison," future active indicative of frourew, old verb from frourov (pro-oros, prooraw, to see before, to look out). See Acts 9:24; II Corinthians 11:32. God's peace as a sentinel mounts guard over our lives as Tennyson so beautifully pictures Love as doing.
Other Robertson's Word Pictures (NT) entries containing Philippians 4:7:
1 Corinthians 2:1
1 Thessalonians 1:1
1 Peter 1:5
