American Standard Version
For neither at any time were we found using words of flattery, as ye know, nor a cloak of covetousness, God is witness;

Amplified® Bible
For as you well know, we never resorted either to words of flattery or to any cloak to conceal greedy motives {or} pretexts for gain, [as] God is our witness.

Contemporary English Version
You also know that we didn't try to flatter anyone. God himself knows that what we did wasn't a cover-up for greed.

Darby English Version
For we have not at any time been [among you] with flattering discourse, even as ye know, nor with a pretext for covetousness, God [is] witness;

Good News Bible
You know very well that we did not come to you with flattering talk, nor did we use words to cover up greed---God is our witness!

As you know, we did not come with words of flattery or with a scheme to make money. God is our witness!
