Who shall judge (tou mellontov krinein). "The one going or about to judge" (regular idiom with mellw). The quick and the dead (zwntav kai nekrouv). "Living and dead." See I Thessalonians 4:16 f.
And by his appearing (kai thn epifaneian). Accusative of conjuration (verbs of swearing), after diamarturomai as is basileian (by his kingdom). See I Thessalonians 5:27. For epifaneian, see II Timothy 1:10; Titus 2:13; I Timothy 6:14; II Thessalonians 2:8.
