Hebrews 11:2

Therein (en tauth). That is, "in faith," feminine demonstrative referring to pistiv.

The elders (oi presbuteroi). More nearly like "the fathers," not the technical sense of elders (officers) usual in the N.T., but more like "the tradition of the elders" (Mark 7:3, Mark 7:5; Matthew 15:2).

Had witness borne to them (emarturhqhsan). First aorist passive of marturew (cf. Hebrews 7:8), "were testified to."
