Hebrews 11:20

18 ¹of whom it was said, ^a“In Isaac your seed shall be called,”

19 concluding that God ^awas able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense.

20 By faith ^aIsaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.

21 By faith Jacob, when he was dying, ^ablessed each of the sons of Joseph, and worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff.

22 By faith ^aJoseph, when he was dying, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel, and gave instructions concerning his bones.

Hebrews 11:20

By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau - He believed that God would fulfill his promise to his posterity; and God gave him to see what would befall them in their future generations. The apostle does not seem to intimate that one should be an object of the Divine hatred, and the other of Divine love, in reference to their eternal states. This is wholly a discovery of later ages.
