American Standard Version
It is for chastening that ye endure; God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is there whom `his' father chasteneth not?

Amplified® Bible
You must submit to {and} endure [correction] for discipline; God is dealing with you as with sons. For what son is there whom his father does not [thus] train {and} correct {and} discipline?

Contemporary English Version
Be patient when you are being corrected! This is how God treats his children. Don't all parents correct their children?

Ye endure for chastening, God conducts himself towards you as towards sons; for who is the son that the father chastens not?

Endure what you suffer as being a father's punishment; your suffering shows that God is treating you as his children. Was there ever a child who was not punished by his father?
