Articles, Bible studies, and sermons that contain James 1:13:
James 1:13-15
Excerpted from: Decide Now How You Will Respond! And this is the same meaning as sin brings forth death. Brings forth death in verse 15 is an animal phrase for birth, and it means that sin spawns death. Conquered by desire, man becomes less than a man and sinks to the level of a beast.
A summary of James 1:13-15 reveals that temptation initiates the process leading to sin, which ultimately results in death. In verse 13, it tells us that God does not tempt us. Verse 14 says that we are drawn away by our desires and enticed by Satan and the world. Verse 15 concludes that desire gives birth to sin; therefore, sin brings forth death. So the process is: temptation leads to desire, desire leads to sin, and sin results in death.
