I Peter 3:8
Excerpted from: Displaying a Good Conscience: PolitenessIt improves both the person who acts kindly and the happiness of those around him. It is a moral duty and should be part of a religious education. The apostle Peter tells us that being of one mind requires compassion and love and tenderheartedness, and he even includes being courteous among these other virtues we must keep in mind.
Adam Clarke's commentary states that courteous comes from the Greek word philophrones, meaning be friendly minded, acquire and cultivate a friendly disposition, be kind and courteous. So God's way of life calls for us to be courteous, gentlemanly, ladylike in our treatment of others.
I Peter 3:1-12
Excerpted from: Proverbs 31 and the Wife of ChristBrethren, the virtuous, trustworthy wife of Christ, relying on the excellency and strength that only comes from God, will only be those who have already learned faithfully, have been following the preparation manual of the wife of Christ that God has set before us to do the work and build the character of the virtuous wife that only does good to complement, with an E and compliment with an I, Christ for eternity.
I Peter 3:8
Excerpted from: Satan (Part 4)Notice the advice. Do not these things require a great deal of control, a rejection of the feelings that Satan may be in the background trying to stir up?
