Gift (xarisma). Late N.T. word (in late papyri) from xarizomai, to give graciously. It is used here by Peter as one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 12:4, I Corinthians 12:9, I Corinthians 12:29-31; Romans 12:6).
Ministering (diakonountev). Present active participle plural of diakonew, common verb (Matthew 20:28), though ekastov (each) is singular.
As good stewards (wv kaloi oikonomoi). For "steward" (oikonomov, house-manager) see Luke 16:1; I Corinthians 4:1 (used by Paul of himself) and of any bishop (Titus 1:7), but here of any Christian. See kalov used with diakonov in I Timothy 4:6.
Of the manifold grace of God (poikilhv xaritov qeou). For poikilov (many-colored) see on I Peter 1:6; James 1:2.
