Himself also to walk (kai autov peripatein). Present active infinitive after ofeilei (ought), "Himself also to keep on walking," a continuous performance, not a spasmodic spurt.
Even as he walked (kaqwv ekeinov periepathsen). Constative aorist active indicative summing up the life of Christ on earth with the emphatic use of the demonstrative ekeinov in reference to Christ as in I John 3:3, I John 3:5, I John 3:7, I John 3:16; I John 4:17; John 7:11; John 9:12, John 9:28; John 19:21.
