Articles, Bible studies, and sermons that contain The First Epistle of John 3:7:

I John 3:7-8
Excerpted from: Satan (Part 5)

This section shows the diabolical source of sin that is from the devil, that God's enmity against Satan is absolute, and that God's enmity lies at the very heart of God's commitment to rescue man from Satan. He is doing it! He will do it! The major battle is already over. Christ defeated Satan. We are part of the mopping up operations, but the war goes on.

God will destroy. This word "destroy" does not mean obliterate in the English sense, but it means, "to break the power of." His power over mankind is absolutely broken because of what Christ did! He is still alive; he is still working, because God's plan is being worked out and we're a part of it now.

"Destroy," as it is used here, means to break the power of. On the other hand, if we take it from the English meaning of the word destroy, God will destroy what Satan produces. He's going to destroy the system of this world that is against God. We know that in the lake of fire, God is going to destroy all of mankind that is unrighteous too.
