That is, iniquity. The Greek word is anomia. It means against law. Thus, those who are not obedient, or those who did not make the right choices. They choose death. Most people on the face of this earth are on that broad path that is leading to destruction.
I think that is very clear. Our keeping of the commandments (which is love) is our response to God's love - first to Him, and then out to our fellow man.
What is the way to understand God, and to understand His way? It is to obey Him. As the psalmist says:
God is love, and the Scriptures contain no equivalent statements with respect to other qualities of the divine nature. Love is the highest characteristic of God and the one attribute in which all others harmoniously blend.
The love of God and Christ is greater than mere kindness or benevolence. The love of Christ underpins everything He has done and is doing, even though many facts exist that we cannot fully understand due to our limited knowledge.
