American Standard Version
These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their lusts (and their mouth speaketh great swelling `words'), showing respect of persons for the sake of advantage.

Amplified® Bible
These are inveterate murmurers (grumblers) who complain [of their lot in life], going after their own desires [controlled by their passions]; their talk is boastful {and} arrogant, [and they claim to] admire men's persons {and} pay people flattering compliments to gain advantage.

Contemporary English Version
These people grumble and complain and live by their own selfish desires. They brag about themselves and flatter others to get what they want.

Darby English Version
These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their lusts; and their mouth speaks swelling words, admiring persons for the sake of profit.

Good News Bible
These people are always grumbling and blaming others; they follow their own evil desires; they brag about themselves and flatter others in order to get their own way.
