American Standard Version
And the beast that was, and is not, is himself also an eighth, and is of the seven; and he goeth into perdition.

Amplified® Bible
And as for the beast that [once] was, but now is no more, he [himself] is an eighth ruler (king, head), but he is of the seven {and} belongs to them, and he goes to perdition.

Contemporary English Version
You also saw a beast that used to be and no longer is. That beast is one of the seven kings who will return as the eighth king, but only to be destroyed.

Darby English Version
And the beast that was and is not, he also is an eighth, and is of the seven, and goes into destruction.

Good News Bible
And the beast that was once alive, but lives no longer, is itself an eighth king who is one of the seven and is going off to be destroyed.
