Excerpted from: Whose Morality Are We Following?Now, Jude wrote in verse 7 that the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah and the adjacent towns (that likewise gave themselves over to the sensual perversions) was not only a punishment, but also set forth an example for all of us down through history—to know what will definitely happen if we allow such perversions in our nations. Genesis 13:13 tells of the people of Canaan being completely submerged in depravity. Homosexuality was so prevalent that it was made into a religious rite there. And, for such abominations, God sentenced the Canaanites to death.
God warned the Israelite that, when He had delivered the wicked Canaanites before them, they were to make no covenant with them. Israel's later failure to execute the judgment that God demanded ultimately caused their own downfall, and they received judgment for the same thing. Sodomy promotes idolatry, invites false gods, nurtures apostasy, and spawns addition perversions—first those who indulge in its lusts and evils, and ultimately the nation that permits it to continue unchallenged. So not only are the individuals who partake in these perversions going to, and are, receiving penalties for it—but the nation itself is held responsible.

This is a judgment from God. He's punishing these people for their wicked practices, and the land itself helps God in getting rid of them.
This is scary, isn't it? But people do these detestable things, which in chapter 18 of Deuteronomy include spiritism, occultism, necromancing—all that type of stuff. The land is defiled. Not just the people are defiled, but the land itself becomes defiled, and it reacts and throws the inhabitants out by means of natural disasters, unproductiveness, famine, disease, war, and things of that nature. The land simply has it up to here, and throws the people out.
God's creation all works together. It's all based on living the righteous way of God. The land can only take so much before God uses it to punish the nation that does these things.
Leviticus 18:24-28
Excerpted from: Trumpets Means War!There is a principle found in Leviticus 18, which you probably heard said before, but I need to repeat it because it is important. The earlier parts of this chapter speak mostly of sexual perversions, although there are some portions on idolatry and human sacrifice. But, it is mostly sexual perversions found here that God forbids the Israelites to do.
God said that even if Israel, His chosen people, did these things, that He would allow the natural process of removal to take place—the land would vomit them out of it.
So, what we find here is that the land vomits the inhabitants out for their evil. This is one of the methods that God uses to make sure that sin does not spread either geographically or generationally—He does not want people to become so calloused to sin that they cannot repent.
