Excerpted from: The Covenants, Grace, and Law (Part 18)There is equally no wonder that, when Jesus came, He magnified the law; and He stated that not one jot or tittle was going to pass from the law until all be fulfilled. What Jesus did was He broadened the application from specific to its intent. I want you to see the principle of broadening so that we understand how to look at these things.
All of these have the same general thought behind them. The one with material—linen and wool—I think is easiest to see this principle. It moves from specific to its intent. It moves from letter to spirit. The specific application involves linen and wool. And it means then that we are not to mix the fibers from a vegetable product and an animal product into the same piece of material.
It expands in its practical application when we understand that mixing animal and vegetable fibers make poor quality. Therefore, the intent—the spirit of it—is to buy the very best quality that you can afford. It still applies. The same is true with the other laws that appear in that little context too. He is telling you the best thing to do is to keep the breeds pure, and not let hybrids develop.

Excerpted from: The Seed of Eternal Life!God caused each plant and animal to reproduce after its own kind. God twice commands us to follow that example. Instead of mingling our crops, we should plant seeds that will reproduce after their own kind. It is a repeated biblical law that a field or vineyard not be planted with two kinds of seed. Let us look into the details of this. What does that mean?
So this raises some questions. The reference to mixed seed or cloth is an effort to reduce adulteration of a good product. Mixing wheat and barley would make harvesting difficult because of their different times for ripening. The biblical principle concerns the mixture of seeds with significantly differing qualities. Selecting a pure seed over a mixed seed applies the principle that the best quality you can afford should be chosen for you and your family. Why should you feed your children such impure food or defiled food as we see being offered in stores even to this day?

Excerpted from: The Purpose of the MinistryI do not have any livestock and I am not sowing any field, but I do wear clothes. It says here not to wear clothes of mixed fabrics. I have studied into this and I have looked at it and I have come to the conclusion that God wants us to wear a garment of just one fabric because it pictures oneness in mind with Christ. It indicates that we are not mixed with the world, that we have purity before God.
This is just in my mind and I have thought about it and so I submit my study to the pastor and I pray about it and I ask God to guide his answer because I know that God is in the church. He reviews it and he informs me the instruction to not mix fabrics was given because the fibers of different strength will cause the garment to wear out prematurely. The stronger fibers will cut through the weaker fibers, causing the garment to fail.
