Leviticus 19:30

28 You shall not ^amake any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the Lord.

29 ^a‘Do not prostitute your daughter, to cause her to be a harlot, lest the land fall into harlotry, and the land become full of wickedness.

30 ‘You shall¹ keep My Sabbaths and ^areverence My sanctuary: I am the Lord.

31 ‘Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after ^athem, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.

32 ^a‘You shall¹ rise before the gray headed and honor the presence of an old man, and ^bfear your God: I am the Lord.

33 ‘And ^aif a stranger dwells with you in your land, you shall not mistreat him.

Leviticus

LEVITICUS. So called from its treating of the laws relating to the ritual, the services, and sacrifices of the Jewish religion, the superintendence of which was entrusted to the Levitical priesthood. It is chiefly, however, the duties of the priests, "the sons of Aaron," which this book describes; and its claim to be the work of Moses is established by the following passages:— II Chronicles 30:16; Nehemiah 8:14; Jeremiah 7:22-23; Ezekiel 20:11 Matthew 8:4; Luke 2:22; John 8:5; Romans 10:4; Romans 13:9; II Corinthians 6:16; Galatians 3:12; I Peter 1:16.
