It is one of His names—Yahweh Mekaddishkem, the Lord who sanctifies you, the One who sets you apart. He set apart Israel as His people, as His nation, and He set apart the church as His own holy people. You will find that in I Peter 2. We are a holy nation, set aside to do good works.
