Leviticus 20:10

8 And you shall keep ^aMy statutes, and perform them: ^bI am the Lord who sanctifies you.

9 ‘For ^aeveryone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother. ^bHis blood shall be upon him.

10 ^a‘The man who commits adultery with another man’s wife, he who commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress, shall surely be put to death.

11 The man who lies with his ^afather’s wife has uncovered his father’s nakedness; both of them shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.

12 If a man lies with his ^adaughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death. They have committed perversion. Their blood shall be upon them.

Leviticus

LEVITICUS. So called from its treating of the laws relating to the ritual, the services, and sacrifices of the Jewish religion, the superintendence of which was entrusted to the Levitical priesthood. It is chiefly, however, the duties of the priests, "the sons of Aaron," which this book describes; and its claim to be the work of Moses is established by the following passages:— II Chronicles 30:16; Nehemiah 8:14; Jeremiah 7:22-23; Ezekiel 20:11 Matthew 8:4; Luke 2:22; John 8:5; Romans 10:4; Romans 13:9; II Corinthians 6:16; Galatians 3:12; I Peter 1:16.
