And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.

Amplified® Bible
And he had intercourse with Hagar, and she became pregnant; and when she saw that she was with child, she looked with contempt upon her mistress {and} despised her.

Contemporary English Version
Later, when Hagar knew she was going to have a baby, she became proud and was hateful to Sarai.

And he went in to Hagar, and she conceived. And when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was lightly esteemed in her eyes.

Good News Bible
