Excerpted from: Passover (Part 6)Everything needed for transferring the responsibility for Passover from the family to the tabernacle was now in place. The children of Israel were even encamped right around the tabernacle. It sat in their midst. And would not it have been an easy thing for them to just walk a short distance to the tabernacle and watch the priests sacrifice the lambs? Handy! But let us jump to chapter 9. Here we are now—right in the day.
Not one change! Boy, did God pass up an opportunity! He let that one slide by! No changes whatsoever even after all the instructions for the sacrifices were given. And there was a priesthood to do it; and there was a tabernacle to do it in; and there was an altar to do it on. And they were "so handy." They were right there. And God did not do anything. He left it the way it was! (You almost begin to think that men somehow "know" better than God does.)

So now we have all of those things that they did, following the sacrifice of the lamb—now they are called statutes and ordinances.
