35 They departed from Abronah and camped at Ezion Geber.

36 They moved from Ezion Geber and camped in the ^aWilderness of Zin, which is Kadesh.

37 They moved from ^aKadesh and camped at Mount Hor, on the boundary of the land of Edom.

38 Then ^aAaron the priest went up to Mount Hor at the command of the Lord, and died there in the fortieth year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, on the first day of the fifth month.

39 Aaron was one hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on Mount Hor.

Numbers

NUMBERS. This book is so called because it contains an account of the enumeration and arrangement of the Israelites. The early part of it, from the first through the tenth chapters, appears to be a supplement to Leviticus, being occupied with relating the appointment of the Levites to the sacred offices. The journal of the march through the wilderness is then given as far as Numbers 21:20; after which the early incidents of the invasion are narrated. One direct quotation only from this book (Numbers 16:5) is made in the New Testament (II Timothy 2:19); but indirect references to it by the later sacred writers are very numerous.
