47 Ashdod with its towns and villages, Gaza with its towns and villages—as far as ^athe Brook of Egypt and ^bthe Great Sea with its coastline.

48 And in the mountain country: Shamir, Jattir, Sochoh,

Ashdod - Called also Azotus, Acts 8:40.

Unto the river of Egypt - The Pelusiac branch of the Nile, or Sihor. But see on Joshua 15:4 (note).

The great sea - The Mediterranean.
