American Standard Version
Now when Joshua had sent the people away, the children of Israel went every man unto his inheritance to possess the land.

Amplified® Bible
And when Joshua had let the people go, the Israelites went every man to his inheritance to possess the land.

Contemporary English Version
Joshua had been faithful to the LORD. And after Joshua sent the Israelites to take the land they had been promised, they remained faithful to the LORD until Joshua died at the age of one hundred ten. He was buried on his land in Timnath-Heres, in the hill country of Ephraim north of Mount Gaash. Even though Joshua was gone, the Israelites were faithful to the LORD during the lifetime of those men who had been leaders with Joshua and who had seen the wonderful things the LORD had done for Israel.

When Joshua dismissed the people, the people of Israel went each to his inheritance to take possession of the land.

Joshua sent the people of Israel on their way, and each man went to take possession of his own share of the land.
