Judges 2:14-15
Excerpted from: The Time of Jacob's TroubleGod says that He sold the Israelites into the hands of their enemies. He had redeemed them—He had purchased them—from Egypt, but now that they had turned from Him, He sold them to those who would plunder them until such time that they repented. This is not the only time God uses this terminology of selling. It says this several more times in the book of Judges (Judges 3:8; 4:2; 10:7), and also in I Samuel 12:9 and Joel 3:6. So, we find another pattern of God when dealing with a rebellious people—He sells them.
