Genesis 26:30-31
Excerpted from: Isaac and the Day of Small ThingsIn verse 31, after eating and drinking, the Philistines depart in peace. In the case of Abraham and Isaac, the Gentiles seek the political and perhaps the economic benefits of peace, but do not want to live among God’s people. They are certainly not converted, you understand. The reference to Isaac’s making a feast in Genesis 26:30 is an application of Psalm 23:5. God is capable of setting a table before us in the presence of our enemies.
