For the Lord will make ... a sure house - Compare I Samuel 2:35, and II Samuel 7:16; I Kings 11:38. Abigail' s firm persuasion of David' s kingdom stands upon the same footing as Rahab' s conviction of God' s gift of Canaan to the Israelites Joshua 2:9-13. Both testified to God' s revelation and their own faith. This is doubtless the reason why Abigail' s speech is recorded.
