Commentaries:Barnes' Notes
<< 2 Samuel 4:3 2 Samuel 4:5 >>
2 Samuel 4:4
This mention of Mephibosheth seems to be inserted here partly to show that with the death of Ish-bosheth the cause of the house of Saul became hopeless, and partly to prepare the way for the subsequent mention of him II Samuel 9:1-13; II Samuel 16:1-4; II Samuel 19:25.
Other Barnes' Notes entries containing 2 Samuel 4:4:
1 Samuel 13:1
2 Samuel 2:10
1 Chronicles 10:6
