1 Kings 7:46

44 one Sea, and twelve oxen under the Sea;

45 ^athe pots, the shovels, and the bowls. All these articles which¹ Huram made for King Solomon for the house of the Lord were of burnished bronze.

46 ^aIn the plain of Jordan the king had them cast in clay molds, between ^bSuccoth and ^cZaretan.

47 And Solomon did not weigh all the articles, because there were so many; the weight of the bronze was not ^adetermined.

48 Thus Solomon had all the furnishings made for the house of the Lord: ^athe altar of gold, and ^bthe table of gold on which was ^cthe showbread;

Cast them , in the clay ground - In this place he found that particular kind of clay that was proper for his purpose. Some suppose that the place where Hiram had his foundry was on the other side, some on this side, of Jordan. Calmet supposes that it was near Bethshan.
