American Standard Version
And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of; and he saved himself there, not once nor twice.

Amplified® Bible
Then the king of Israel sent to the place of which [Elisha] told {and} warned him; and thus he protected {and} saved himself there repeatedly.

Contemporary English Version
So the king would warn the Israelite troops in that place to be on guard.

Darby English Version
And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and he was on his guard there. [That took place] not once, nor twice.

Good News Bible
So the king of Israel warned the people who lived in that place, and they were on guard. This happened several times.

King James Version
And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice.
