31:1 The words of King Lemuel, the utterance which his mother taught him: |
31:2 What, my son? |
31:3 Do not give your strength to women, |
31:4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, |
31:5 Lest they drink and forget the law, |
31:6 Give strong drink to him who is perishing, |
31:7 Let him drink and forget his poverty, |
31:8 Open your mouth for the speechless, |
31:9 Open your mouth, judge righteously, |
31:10 Who can find a virtuous wife? |
31:11 The heart of her husband safely trusts her; |
31:12 She does him good and not evil |
31:13 She seeks wool and flax, |
31:14 She is like the merchant ships, |
31:15 She also rises while it is yet night, |
31:16 She considers a field and buys it; |
31:17 She girds herself with strength, |
31:18 She perceives that her merchandise is good, |
31:19 She stretches out her hands to the distaff, |
31:20 She extends her hand to the poor, |
31:21 She is not afraid of snow for her household, |
31:22 She makes tapestry for herself; |
31:23 Her husband is known in the gates, |
31:24 She makes linen garments and sells them, |
31:25 Strength and honor are her clothing; |
31:26 She opens her mouth with wisdom, |
31:27 She watches over the ways of her household, |
31:28 Her children rise up and call her blessed; |
31:29 ' Many daughters have done well, |
31:30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, |
31:31 Give her of the fruit of her hands, |
