The meaning of Baanah in the Bible
(From Easton's Bible Dictionary)

son of affliction.

  • One of the two sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, a captain in Saul's army. He and his brother Rechab assassinated Ishbosheth (II Samuel 4:2), and were on this account slain by David, and their mutilated bodies suspended over the pool at Hebron (5,6,12).

  • The father of Heled, who was one of David's thirty heroes (II Samuel 23:29; I Chronicles 11:30).
