The meaning of Beor in the Bible

be'-or (be'or, "destroyer"(?)):
(1) Father of Bela, the first king of Edom (Genesis 36:32; I Chronicles 1:43).
(2) The father of the seer Balaam (Numbers 22:5; Numbers 24:3, Numbers 24:15; Numbers 31:8; Deuteronomy 23:4; Joshua 13:22; Joshua 24:9, omitted in Septuagint; Micah 6:5; II Peter 2:15, the King James Version and the Revised Version, margin "Bosor").
