The meaning of Ahilud in the Bible
(From International Standard Bible Encyclopedia)

a-hi'-lud ('achiludh, "child's brother," perhaps): The father of Jehoshaphat, who is mentioned as "recorder" in both the earlier and the later lists under David, and in the list under Solomon (II Samuel 8:16 and I Chronicles 18:15; II Samuel 20:24; I Kings 4:3). In the absence of proof we may assume that the father of Baana, one of Solomon's district superintendents, was the same Ahilud (I Kings 4:12).
