The meaning of Hoglah in the Bible
(From International Standard Bible Encyclopedia)
hog'-la (choghlah, "partridge"): The third of five daughters of Zelophehad of the tribe of Manasseh (Numbers 26:33). Zelophehad leaving no male heir, it was made a statute that the inheritance in such cases should pass to the daughters, if such there were, as joint heirs, on condition, however, of marriage within the tribe (Numbers 27:1-11; Numbers 36:1-12; Joshua 17:3 f.).
