The meaning of Arah in the Bible
(From International Standard Bible Encyclopedia)
a'-ra ('arach, "traveler"?): (1) The son of Ulla, an Asherite (I Chronicles 7:39). (2) The head of a family that returned from the exile with Zerubbabel (Ezra 2:5; Nehemiah 7:10). He is sometimes identified with Arah of Nehemiah 6:18 whose grand-daughter became the wife of Tobiah, the Ammonite who tried to thwart Nehemiah in rebuilding Jerusalem.
