The meaning of Treason in the Bible
(From International Standard Bible Encyclopedia)tre'-z'-n: The translation of qesher, in English Versions of the Bible I Kings 16:20; II Kings 11:14 parallel II Chronicles 23:13. Qesher (from qashar, "to bind") means "a conspiracy" (II Samuel 15:12; II Kings 12:20, etc.), and the translation "treason" is due to the King James Versions' love of variety.
