The Spirit of the Lord entered Samson to enable him to do what a human being normally could not have done. Now, if we had been watching this going on, to whom or what would we have attributed what happened? If we had been from Ashkelon, we would definitely have thought this could not possibly be of God. But God reports that that Samson's slaying of thirty men indeed was of Him.
Samson broke his bonds as if they were nothing. In another case, he picked up the heavy gate of the city and single handedly carried them several miles away, because the Spirit of the Lord came upon him. He did what no human being should have been able to do. God points this out so that we will understand that it really was not Samson alone who did this, but Samson was used by God to do this through the supernatural power of His Spirit.
Samson's muscular strength is simply a different form of supernatural or super-energized power. We can see the supernatural aspect clearly because he did things that no human should be able to do.
