Seemingly ever-vigilant, the prophet notices her approaching and politely asks Gehazi, his servant, to meet her and inquire after her and her family members' well being. The woman brushes Gehazi aside with the same evasive "shalom" that she had answered her husband's questions with earlier. To her, her son's death is a matter the man of God himself must deal with, not anyone less. Subsequent events prove her right in this.
