Time magazine once carried an interesting story about former President George Herbert Walker Bush. It described a trip he took back to the South Pacific During World War 2, Bush had been a bomber pilot. He was shot by Japanese anti-aircraft fire. The article detailed Bush's return to the very spot where he was rescued from his downed aircraft. During his return, Bush met a Japanese gentleman who claimed to have witnessed Bush's rescue back in 1944. That's my birthday. Uh, the, the man related as, as he and the others were watching the rescue take place, one of the man's friends remarked, Surely, America will win the war. If they are so much concerned for the life of one pilot. How much more does God care for each of us? Isaiah 33:2 reads, O Lord, be gracious. We have waited expectantly for you. Uh, be the arm of your servants every morning, that is their strength and their defense. Our salvation as in the time of trouble, amplified Bible. Psalm 103:13. Just as a father loves his children, so the Lord loves those who fear and worship Him with awe-filled respect and deepest reverence. That's amplified Bible as well. Matthew 23:37. Uh, also, the amplified Bible, a lament over Jerusalem. Oh Jerusalem, O Jerusalem, who murders the prophets and stones to death, the messengers who are sent to her by God. How often I wanted to gather your children around me as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings and you were unwilling. Deuteronomy 31 Uh, 11 says, as an eagle that protects its nest, flutters over its young, he spreads out his wings and took them. He carried them on his pinions, amplified Bible. Uh, Isaiah 65, uh. 625 says, for as a young man marries a virgin, O Jerusalem, so your sons will marry you. And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, So your, your God will rejoice over you, amplified Bible. Do you know that God cares for us and His care never fails? Uh, I Peter 5:7. Casting all your care upon him, for he cares for you. That's the King James version. One of the greatest questions people ask is, does anyone really care about me? We live in a world filled with loneliness, disappointment, anxiety, broken relationships, financial struggles, sickness, and grief. Many people feel invisible. Yet, the Bible gives us one of the most comforting truths ever spoken. God cares for you. His care is not occasional. His care is not conditional. His care is not temporary. His care is a personal, constant, sacrificial, and everlasting. So how much more does Almighty God care for every one of his children? Jesus said, are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? You are of more value than many sparrows. Matthew 20:10-20-29-31. God knows your name? God knows your tears. God knows your struggles. God knows your future. Today, we will discover 7 beautiful pictures that, that the Bible uses to describe God's loving care. The first is that, one, God cares like a mother who comforts. Isaiah 66, as one whom his mother comforteth, so I'll comfort you. That's the King James. One of the deepest expressions of human love is a mother's comforther frightened child runs into his mother's arms. She wipes away his tears. She speaks words of peace. She stays close until the fear just disappears. God says, that is how I comfort my children. After Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal, he became discouraged and wanted to die. First, Kings 19. Did God condemn him? No, God provided Rest, food. Water. Gentle conversation and renewed purpose. God comforted his weary servant. Some listening here today are carrying emotional pain. Grief Disappointment. Depression Loneliness God still whispers. I am here The Holy Spirit is called the Comforter. John 14:16. Heracletos. No comfort compares with God's presence. God 2, God cares like a father who has compassion. So 103:13. Like as a father ptith his children, so the Lord ptith them that fear Him. The word pity means compassion. A loving father does not enjoy his Childs suffer. He helps. He teaches. He protects. Our Heavenly Father does even more. Jesus taught us to pray. Our Father, notice, not a distant ruler, a father. When a toddler falls learning to walk, a loving father does not criticize. He lifts the child, encourages, says, Try again. That is exactly how God teaches his children. Lamentations 3:22-23 reminds us His compassions fail not. They, they are new every morning. Number 3, God, care, God. God cares. That cares like a nurse who cherishes. Uh, 1 Thessalonians, but we were gentle among you, even as a nurse, cherish, cherish their children. Paul compared Christian ministry to the tenderness of nursing mother. He, watches, protects, sacrifices sleep, notices every need. God never overlooks the smallest need. When Jesus demonstrated his care, when the crowds became hungry, he fed them. When the disciples became fearful, he calmed the storm. When Martha And Mary cried, Jesus wept. Uh, our Savior notices every detail. Nothing is too small for God. For God. There is like a shepherd who seeks Ezekiel 34 as a shepherd seeketh out his flocks, that's the new King James, sheep easily wander. Without a shepherd, they become confused, vulnerable, and lost. Jesus declared, I am the good shepherd, John 10:11. Luke 15 demonstrates how Jesus told about one lost sheep. The shepherds left 99 sheep to rescue one. Notice. He did not wait. He searched, he found, he carried. He rejoiced. That is God's heart. Perhaps someone listening has wandered spiritually. God has not stopped searching. He still calls your name. 5. God cares like a hen who gathers. Matthew. 2337. How often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings? Jesus. Paints a beautiful picture. When danger appears, the mother hen spreads her wings. The chicks run underneath where they find safety, warmth. Protection Psalm 91 echoes this truth. He shall cover thee with his feathers, New King James, storms come, trouble comes, but God's wings never fail. Farmers have discovered after devastating fires that a mother hen sometimes dies protecting her chicks beneath her wings. When her body is lifted, living chicks run out. She gave her life to save them. Jesus did exactly that at Golgotha. God cares like an eagle who trains its young. Deuteronomy 32:11, as an eagle stirreth up its nest, New King James, the eagle eventually stirs the nest. Why? Not because she has stopped loving. But because she wants her young to fly, she pushes them out but never abandons them. She flies beneath them. If they fall, she catches them. Sometimes God allows. Uncomfortable seasons, not to destroy but to develop us. Romans 8:26 reminds us all things work together for good. One thing that Michelle Weiss has taught me. The greatest trial can be a blessing in disguise. Winston Churchill said, it is a mighty well-disguised blessing. Uh, as my friend, Kevin McGuire at the Santa Susannah Cafe. That I mean, Dave, you should have a stroke every 8 years. You get better. Uh, Faith grows through testing. Character grows through trials. Dependence. Grows so difficultGod 67. Uh, God cares like a bridegroom who rejoices. Isaiah 62, as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride so Nor shall thy God rejoice over thee. This may surprise many believers. God does not merely tolerate his children. He delights in them. Zephaniah 3:17 says, he will rejoice over thee with joy. He will joy over thee with saving you, king. Jeez, imagine that. The creator sings over his people. His love is joyful. His love is faithful. His love is eternal. The relationship is between Christ and His church is repeatedly described. Uh, as a marriage. Ephesians 5. 25 to 27. Revelation 197 through 9. What does God's care mean today? Because God cares. We do not have to carry anxiety alone. We can we, we never pray to an uncaring God. We are never abandoned. We are never we never suffer unnoticed. We We walk through trials by ourselves. Jesus said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. New King James uh, Hebrews 13:14, 13. 5. So, knowing this and the greater care our loving Father has, what can we do? One, we can give God our worries. Philippians 6:7 tells us to replace anxiety with prayer. Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything, every circumstance and situation, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving continue to make your specific requests known to God. And the peace, that peace which reassures the heart. That peace which transcends all understanding, that peace which stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus is yours. That's amplified Bible. Every burden. Becomes lighter when placed in God's hand. We can Trust God's timing. Sometimes, God's delays are not his denials. He knows what we cannot see. His timing is perfect. 3 Because God cares for us, we should care for others. Galatians 6:2 says, bear one another's burdens. Sometimes God answers someone's prayer through our compassion. For we can rest in God's presence. Life moves quickly. Uh, spend time with God. Prayer, scripture, worship. These remind us we are deeply loved. In conclusion, God Here's like a mother comforting a father. Flowing compassion, a nurse cherishing, a shepherd searching. As a hen protecting, as an eagle, strengthening and a bridegroom and rejoicing. Every illustration points to the one incredible truth. God loves His people. The greatest demonstration of that love is Jesus Christ. Romans 5:8 declares, that God commended His love toward us and all, while we are still sinners. Christ died for us, through King James. If anyone doubts God's care, They need only to look at the crucifixion. Uh, there, therefore, God's love was just displayed for the whole world to see. Perhaps today, you are carrying burdens that no one else knows. Jesus. Yes, come unto me all ye labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 to King James. Bring him your fears, bring him your failures, bring him your family, bring him your future, because the God who created heaven and earth still says, Cast all care upon me, for I care. For you
