Psalm 118:25-26
Excerpted from: Teachings from TabernaclesThe seventh day has a special name. For some 2,000 years, the Jews have called it, “Hoshana Rabbah.” The Hebrew word hoshana means “please save” or “Lord, save now.” You may be more familiar with the Greek form of the Hebrew word, which is hosanna—essentially the same word. And the Hebrew word rabbah means, “great.” So, the 7th day was the day of great supplication for salvation and divine blessing. It was the great day of the Feast. The Jews never referred to the 8th Day this way.
The word translated “save now” is hoshana. The 7th day was the great day of asking for salvation, and this is what they would chant.

Excerpted from: The Second ResurrectionWhat we see here is a prophecy of what is coming off in the future, when the whole world, symbolized by the people of Israel, go through the gates of righteousness, recognizing Christ as their Savior, rejoicing in those God sends to teach them, and praising God for His mercy for giving them salvation. God is pouring out His Holy Spirit on all of mankind.
