Whether a1 man is ever in labor with child?
So why do I see every man with his hands on his loins
aLike a woman in labor,
And all faces turned pale?
bSo that none is like it;
And it is the time of Jacob’s trouble,
But he shall be saved out of it.
Says the Lord of hosts,
‘That I will break his yoke from your neck,
And will burst your bonds;
Foreigners shall no more enslave them.
‘Nor be dismayed, O Israel;
For behold, I will save you from afar,
And your seed bfrom the land of their captivity.
Jacob shall return, have rest and be quiet,
And no one shall make him afraid.
bThough I make a full end of all nations where I have scattered you,
cYet I will not make a complete end of you.
But I will correct you din justice,
And will not let you go altogether unpunished.’
They do not seek you;
For I have wounded you with the wound bof an enemy,
With the chastisement cof a cruel one,
For the multitude of your iniquities,
dBecause your sins have increased.
Your sorrow is incurable.
Because of the multitude of your iniquities,
Because your sins have increased,
I have done these things to you.
And all your adversaries, every one of them, shall go into bcaptivity;
Those who plunder you shall become cplunder,
And all who prey upon you I will make a dprey.
And heal you of your wounds,’ says the Lord,
‘Because they called you an outcast saying:
“This is Zion;
No one seeks her.” ’

What Does Jeremiah 30:4 Mean?
Jeremiah 30:4-6
The period we live in is leading to the fulfillment of this prophecy. Notice that Israel and Judah are both named in it. When compared to the fact that Jeremiah lived over a hundred years after Israel went into captivity to Assyria, yet this prophecy is addressed to both Israel and Judah, it is understood that this an end-time prophecy. A time is coming when these troubles will come upon both the nation of Judah and the nations of Israel.

Trumpets Is a Day of Hope
Jeremiah 30:4-6
God is setting the stage to help us to understand the times that confront us, and that are just ahead of us. We are moving toward a time that is unique in the history of man—as unique as a man giving birth to a child and being in the throes of labor. No historian has ever seen the kind of times that are just around the corner. Unless God has a place of safety for us, then we are going to find ourselves involved in these unique times that are coming.
