Undressed cloth (rakouv agnafou). An unfulled, raw piece of woollen cloth that will shrink when wet and tear a bigger hole than ever.

A worse rent (xeiron sxisma). Our word "schism." The "

patch" (plhrwma, filling up) thus does more harm than good.
