Cried out (kracav). Loud outcry and at once (euquv). The later manuscripts have "with tears" (meta dakruwn), not in the older documents.
I believe; help my unbelief (Pisteuw bohqei th apistiai). An exact description of his mental and spiritual state. He still had faith, but craved more. Note present imperative here (continuous help) bohqei, while aorist imperative (instant help) bohqhson, verse Mark 9:22. The word comes from boh, a cry and qew, to run, to run at a cry for help, a vivid picture of this father's plight.
