Luke 20:23

Perceived (katanohsav). From katanoew, to put the mind down on. Mark has eidwv, "knowing," and Matthew gnouv, coming to know or grasping (second aorist active participle of ginwskw).

Craftiness (panourgian). Old word for doing any deed. Matthew has "wickedness" (ponhrian) and Mark "hypocrisy" (upokrisin). Unscrupulous they certainly were. They would stoop to any trick and go the limit.
