John 6:11

The loaves (touv artouv). Those of verse John 6:9.

Having given thanks (euxaristhsav). The usual grace before meals (Deuteronomy 8:10). The Synoptics use "blessed" euloghsen (Mark 6:41; Matthew 14:19; Luke 9:16).

He distributed (diedwken). First aorist active indicative of diadidwmi, old verb to give to several (dia, between).

To them that were set down (toiv anakeimenoiv). Present middle participle (dative case) of anakeimai, old verb to recline like anapesein in verse John 6:10.

As much as they would (oson hqelon). Imperfect active of qelw, "as much as they wished."
