What Does John 14:30 Mean?

By living a perfect life and dying for the sins of men, Jesus Christ qualified to dethrone Satan, the ruler of this world, who has now been defeated. Even so, Satan remains active among us until the King of kings returns and establishes His government on earth.

When Jesus Christ lived a perfect life and died for the sins of men, He qualified to dethrone Satan. The "ruler of this world" has been defeated! However, he remains active among us until the King of kings returns and sets up His government on earth.
