Exodus 40:33
Compare all
31 and Moses, Aaron, and his sons would awash their hands and their feet with water from it.
32 Whenever they went into the tabernacle of meeting, and when they came near the altar, they washed, aas the Lord had commanded Moses.
33 aAnd he raised up the court all around the tabernacle and the altar, and hung up the screen of the court gate. So Moses bfinished the work.

The Cloud and the Glory

34 aThen the bcloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the cglory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
35 And Moses awas not able to enter the tabernacle of meeting, because the cloud rested above it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

No entry exists in Forerunner Commentary for Exodus 40:33.

Exodus 40:33-34

The tabernacle had to be set up on the exact day that God said. Even this was not left up to chance!

Their work was accepted.

Let me explain something here: The cloud was not God's glory! The cloud was hiding God's glory! It was shielding the people from Him! And of course, the cloud, I am sure, shone forth with brilliant light, but it was because it was like it had an incandescent lamp burning in the middle of it! The cloud was not God's glory. It hid His glory. The cloud was symbolic, that was all. So it was protecting the people from being slain by an emanation of God's awesome power.
